Great feature. Would be nice to have a personal opening explorer too. See how well I do against various openings.

LOE -- at the moment is a haven for cheaters. Very good to see new tools but they are in a bad place. It kills our game. There is the possibility of opening a new card in our browsers, which creates the opportunity to play with the help of FOE.

Thibault, one more thing, pgn ( on analisys board ) in correspondence chess -
thanks to this you have the ability to import game and then you can use of the engine. I think you should change it.

And finally, you are doing a good job, keep it up!

I agree with kris9191 in that now that the database is available, lichess can/should do away with available fen and pgn strings in analysis, which were useful to export into outside databases but not useful anymore, ...or I don't see the necessity maybe.
I don't know what LOE means, but I agree with kris9191 that offering those strings of moves serves only those who need an engine to make their moves.

All you mentioned can already be done outside lichess.

If it's done *inside* lichess... then the automated cheat detection can take advantage of it.

Thibault, what I mean is honest correspondence players need only databases to study and choose among good moves from good games. Before the feature you installed, using the fen or pgn could help exporting the game to a database, such as chessgames, 365, chesstempo, chesspub, etc. Now that you offer your own database, there is no need for the honest player to export the game. Hence, what is the use of keeping them? I have seen the same opportunity in other chess sites but don't understand the use of it. Why not make them available only once the game is over?

Because you can't prevent people from using opening explorers in correspondence anyway. They have all day to do it.

Therefore it's authorized; therefore it can be done on lichess.

Using opening explorer in correspondence chess is a matter of playing style. A way of studying the game. Noone prove or disprove that you don't use it. That is why there are no rankings.

Sorry if that was already mentioned somewhere else, but the antichess book seems to have problems with position where one king is captured.
