Game declared draw when my OP lost on time?

No, in English if you follow a statement up with "However...", then whatever follows the "however" takes precedence if it is relevant.
@fromode "The opponent" is not your opponent, but the opponent of the player that ran out of time. In your case, *you* are the opponent.
