A new low for Israel. Shooting on starving people. So appalling that the WSJ, which is not exactly pro-Palestinian, chose that damning title for its article.
From an apartheid state like Israel, this is not a surprise. The worst thing is, the USA don't condemn the actions of Israel, they encourage it and give Israel billions of dollars into this colonisation.
IMO we need to make hard requirements for the financial and military support that Israel receives. So, end all no-strings-attached funding, until the genocide stops. But it's probably not going to happen.
I think leaders are too scared to even think how much it would isolate Israel if the West would suspend their unconditional aid. And if no one wants to do that, Netanyahu can see that too, effectively allowing him to continue what is now very clearly an all-out ethnic cleansing.
The strong, condemning words by world leaders are nice, but they clearly make no impression at all. The ICJ might have more weight, but it's going to take years to come with a real verdict (instead of an "intermediate verdict"). And meanwhile they instantly gutted UNRWA at his behest, which shows that we can make such conditions and requirements, AND greatly increased the effectiveness of the hunger siege.
Isn't Netanyahu right when he interprets Western double-speak as a go-ahead?

the USA does condemn it - most of the people do - but not necessarily the heads of the government who control the funding so it is complicated - as we can't immediately remove them and even if we did we have no options that follow the opinion of the majority.
At least aid is going to be air dropped by the US now

This is the first time I will use these words, in all of my life. Nazi ideology is back in full force, this time in Israel. This is the Einsatzgruppen, version 2024. The Warsaw ghetto being emptied once more, this time in Gaza. The only difference is the lack of concentration camps. A genocide in "slow" motion and in broad daylight. With the full complicity of the West. A whole civilian population being starved, shot at, bombed by the Nazis of our times.
What is happening in Gaza now will haunt the West for decades. The battle of Rafah may well be the end of what started at the battle of Thermopylae, and I am hardly exaggerating. You have no idea how I miss the time when Rabin, Arafat and Peres were alive. When Peace was possible.
