Hey, I just wanted to make a few things clear about this topic. I think lichess can make bughouse easily in the way chess.com made it. However, that is poor quailty and not a lot would be gained. Bughouse is the game which not a lot of players are playing. Therefore, you can't just leave a button for players to choose a time control they prefer. There should a partner list and then after you choose a partner you want to play with (not random) you wait for appropriate opponents. A part from that, on higher level communicate should be vocal (audio), because you don't have time to read and write while playing in that pace. Additionally, time seal must be more pricise and accurate because a 1 ms is making a huge difference in time flag in bughouse. Including all of previously mentioned requires huge coding modifications. Therefore, you can't just say add 1 more board and we have bughouse.
