Is Zen mode visible to opponent?

There is an indication to you that you are in Zen mode...but is there one for your opponent? There should be to prevent typing in chat for nothing.

No.

Why should your opponent be allowed to know that you are in zen mode? If they do, then they'll likely harass you in your DMs since there is no credible reason why your opponent would care if you were in zen mode unless they were bothering you.

This is why Lichess shadowbans people, rather than directly stating that the user is banned. If the user is shadowbanned, they think that they are not banned, which allows them to be deceived and deterred from creating a new account. If Lichess said that the user was directly banned, that user would instantly create a new account, rather than being deceived and not bothering any rule-abiding players.
@InkyDarkBird thanks for the comment however what is your opinion on a player taking his/her game time to write something in chat (and never getting an answer)?

Too often i find the answer to posts is "lichess takes care of it in the background" however meanwhile it is the good abiding players that are paying in the foreground.

Dont get me wrong i love this site, so much so that i never visited chess.com!

It reminds me of lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/why-many-players-are-not-polite-?page=1.
Note that I side with the dislikers.
You owe no obligation to your opponent to respond to any of their messages, and vice versa.

This point is irrelevant in this topic.

No one would ever assume that.
@InkyDarkBird funny that you say that i have an irrelevant point when you brought up the shadowban...if you had kept to my point you would have talked about a player not knowing that the opponent is on zen mode, no more than that.

Regarding chess.com...you dont need to comment on everything; especially not in a dry manner to a joke that was tasteful and respectful (a bad joke can be commented).

Respectfully.

The shadowban was an example to help explain zen mode. I never said that zen mode was handled by the moderators.
