I lost on time when I was winning... :(

> Hey guys, I lost time when I was winning. I really wanted to increase my rating since this was a higher rated player than me. Once I lost, he just said "Thank You, Bye" like he was making fun of me. I got kinda mad but didn't let my reactions burst out. I wrote this topic to kinda protest about this game. Remember, I don't want to fight. I just want to state and clarify my point of view. (Btw, I play the black pieces)

And he...he had nothing but a king and 2 frozen pawns and 1 passed pawn. I could've eaten the passed pawn easily and had a pawn that wasn't frozen. You see where I am right now in this situation, right? I know I can't change the results now since it's in the past, but I don't want others to suffer like how I did. I don't want to fight anyone or any false accusations, but I personally think this game should've been a draw.

This happened to me a few days ago:
I didn ́t have two rooks, I had two queens!

If you don't want to lose on time don't play blitz?
Also, it probably would've been faster to use your king and queen to checkmate instead of promoting another queen, don't be greedy.

> The whole point of this is that it should be a draw, @ShiningDrongo , chess rules say that if you lose on time and you are winning, then it's a draw. I don't want to argue, I'm just saying.

Citation needed.
You have three things you need to consider:
1. Play with increment
2. Move faster when low on time
3. Take all their stuff when you're up but low on time

If you do 3, you'll get your desired draw if you flag
I thought @Bwixie, but I was with 05 sec and I thought that if i did 1 mistake I lose by time ( is easier with 2 queens).
I think that time should be given a value expressed in points just like the pieces. The queen is worth 9 points whilst a pawn is worth one point. But what is 20 seconds worth ?
The thing about draws on time is that they must not be able to checkmate through any legal series of moves. While unlikely he could have won so your excuse is not great and learn some time managment. May I suggest setting an amount of time per move you would need to be able to think yet not lose. As a baseline I suggest in a 10+0 rapid game 40 seconds after that. You should be able to change it based on that.
