no they voted for the person who is resisted the US attempt to regain control of Russia, which it briefly had in the 1990's after the USSR dissolved. Putin is not "ruling with an iron fist". Russia does not want the US overthrowing governments on its border in order to threaten Russia. This is not hard to understand Mopman.

Russia reacted exactly the way the US reacted during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ukraine, the Middle East, South Asia, with Taiwan or the Phillipines as the next victim of US "protection". The reality is that the US is desperately trying to hold on to its status as the superpower, and trying to undermine any rivals to that position. Has nothing with freedom, or supporting democracy. And this is widely recognized, which is why China and Russia are having such success with BRICS.

Sorry @what_game_is_this But Putin being a dictator is paralel to why it is shocking that any nation that is not also run by ruthless despots should accept his so called election.
