"Warning. Letting time run out instead of resigning will result in a temporary ban."

Hello,
just my 5 cent worth -
1) displaying this message to player A in case that time run out for player B is perhaps no good...?
2) I often see this warning either for myself or for my opponent while it is definitely not the situation when the player let the time run out on purpose. I am playing quick games. Playing the whole game under a time pressure, losing the game because of running out of time and on top of that getting a warning about a possible ban somehow does not seem right to me.
Perhaps you could consider to issue this warning only in case that the player has a history of letting run 1 minute or so - not letting run some last 5 seconds.
Regards and thanks,

Yes I am with you there, just got that message myself while playing an appropriate game.
This has happened to me several times too, recently. It's clearly a new feature. I think people should be given the benefit of the doubt if they let the last 5-6 seconds run out.
The new feature seems interesting, but I agree that there would need to be a set amount of time that needs to pass before the ban can be used.
In shorter time controls there may be a lot of losses on time. I do think this feature can be especially important in classical. It would be annoying if someone had to wait 20 or more minutes for the game to end.

I think the time warning could be helpful in supplementing this feature. If the time is running under the red clock, and the player is still making moves, then they should be given the benefit of the doubt. A good start for this kind of ban could be if the player did not make any move during the time warning. This would give a better chance to players who do not mean for the time to run out. This may be a better way of determining when to send the message.
Being threatened with a ban for losing on time should not be a part of this server in my opinion. If someone repeatedly offends, indicating bad sportsmanship and wasting their opponent's time, then send them a message and give them a warning. But please end these easily-triggered, less discriminating messages.
I had the same message displayed right now. Started a 1+0 game 2 minutes ago for warm up, had some lag( my internet is sometimes laggy, mostly fast but now and then it craps out on me) and ofc lost bc of time and got this massage.
My two cents on that : I play almost exclusively 3+0, and it happens a lot that players let the time run down. usually it's prety clear if the player let the time run down or just think of their move.

This warning is not easily triggered, at least not for this time control. it happened to me a lot that if the player is a bit smart (I'm not gonna give the trick here, caus I don't want that to happen more, but I guess most of you already know how) they can avoid getting the warning.

So I do agree that for a couple of seconds, it's ok, and I also sometimes have a bad connection.

But when one plays 3+0, 20 seconds are already quite a lot, especially when one has a lot of advantage but must stay concentred in case the opponent plays a move 0.5 sec before the end of their time (happened to me a lot as well) hoping you are doing sth else.

I'm liteinstein and the above link is my game played today with an opponent of not a good conduct and sportsmanship during this game. In an absolutely lost position and about to get checkmated my opponent didn't made a move for more than an hour. What is the rule in this website for such a conduct in a long game? Requesting to do the needful as we feel like its unfair in a game and importantly I do not want this happen to anybody.
What I have noticed often is that players who leave the game in losing position (instead of resigning) have very low game completion rates.

I think it will be a good idea to impose a temporary ban on players who have low game completion rates as well.

Alternatively, if players less than say 90% game completion rate continue to let the time run out, they can be banned temporarily.
#8: Analysis shows, that your opponent left in a clearly *winning* position.
